A TOUGH CAMERA!!!

You see those advertising for the waterproof and shock proof cameras out there and you think. “Hey does it really work? Can I actually drop it on someone’s head and knock them out?”

Well I’m here to tell you “YEP YOU CAN!!!”….

I’m not going to talk about any of the new ones as I think personal experience counts more. So the tough camera I’m featuring today is an older model Olympus Mju 1030 SW Tough Digital Camera.

This is what it looks like BRAND NEW….

After 1 and a half year of using my camera looks like this…

Yep… you see it. the black is all gone, the lens lip is gone (not gone just in my drawer as it came off on my last adventure)…

There are numerous dents on the side of the camera from accidentally dropping it… Mind you it was a normal height drop on TAR ROAD but the dents are so small you can hardly see it.

Also last night I attempted to SUPER glue the lid back on but an unfortunate accident after the glue has dry it stuck the lens slider/cap SHUT.. hahaha.. Fortunately I manage to cut it loose and the lens slider opens again. I was told NOT to try super gluing the lip back on again.. HAHAHA…

and you know what??? IT’S STILL WORKING!!!!

This camera has been through numerous pool water, Ocean SALT water, open ocean diving trips and countless amount of drops… and IT’S STILL WORKING!!!!

So, does that answer the question of what you see in those ads on tough unbreakable cameras?

Oh just to point out if you DO go out and TRY to smash it INTENTIONALLY it will break… come on its just a camera at the end of the day.

But for those of you which are a little clumsy like me on a compact digital camera, go get one of the tough water proof camera… and you won’t be disappointed.

Just before I forget. Important of picture quality, well this post is not about that but if you must know the picture quality is so so. Its good enough for your memories pictures but not professional quality. Having said that I’m sure the newer models would be better then my older model… I hope… ^_^ …
